Our History

EAGLES’ WINGS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY began in 1981 with 18 students.  For the next 20 years the school, known as Gospel Outreach Christian School, grew with the intent to nourish children in God’s Word, training them in His ways, while challenging them to fulfill every aspect of their God given potential.  Our college preparatory high school was opened in 1988. Since then, 80 to 100% of each graduating class have gone on to a 4-year college or university.

Through the years our students have represented more than 125 Chicago area churches and over 70 nationalities.  Families range from full-time and lay Christian workers to new believers and seekers.  As urban families, some have limited financial resources and depend upon financial aid. Eagles’ Wings is committed to the vision that increasing numbers of children, regardless of financial ability, should be blessed with the opportunity to benefit from Christian Education.

Our administration and faculty rely on God’s enabling to effectively equip our students for the complex world they will face as adults. It is our goal that each one would grow in passionate love for God and man with strong, personal commitment to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. Students receive a strong academic preparation, grow in compassionate and wise personal and social responsibility and develop a knowledgeable worldview that reflects an understanding of historical and spiritual Biblical truth.

The school is a member of Christian Schools International (CSI), the Association of Christian School International (ACSI), the National Association of Street Schools (NASS), and the Illinois Coalition of Non-Public Schools (ICNS).  The school has had a close working relationship with Compassion International since 1993.  As a NASS school Eagles’ Wings is seeking accreditation with CITA, the joint body comprised of North Central, ACSI, CSI and most other regional and international accrediting associations.

Staff members are committed Christians who confess God’s calling to minister to children and youth.
